The Mental Health Center of North Iowa and its Community Support Programs are now offering monthly public forums open to consumers, their families and significant others and the community at large. These presentations will encompass a variety of mental health related issues. These public forums will be held on the second Thursday of every month starting with May 2001 in honor of National Mental Health Month. These presentations have been scheduled during the early evening to encourage community participation and will run from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. They will be held at RENEW Center (a drop-in center available through the Community Support Programs to provide skills training and socialization for adults suffering from a serious and persistent mental illness). RENEW Center is located at 2 South Adams (the old YWCA building) in Mason City. RENEW Center is handicapped accessible and does have limited handicapped parking. Light refreshments will be provided at each public forum.
